Business English
Our Business English course targets the acquisition and improvement of the students’ business English language skill and it is designed for advanced students to adapt linguistically to a fast-changing business world. The course uses the communicative approach with introduction, vocabulary presentation, discussion activities, reading texts, listening assignments, language review, integrated skills, and case studies that are used in real life situations. If you do not hold a student visa (F-1) you can take our Business English course privately. However, if you hold a student visa (F-1) you can take our Business English course along with the TOEFL® iBT Test Preparation Course as a Supplemental Skill Course.

Duration: 64 hours - Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
By the end of the course, students are expected to:
- Comprehend fast-paced and realistic discussions with specialized vocabulary in a variety of professional situations including interviews, conversations, phone calls, and presentations.
- Comprehend complex texts about specialized subject matter with business-specific terminology to find details, supporting facts, and main ideas, as well as verify information.
- Recognize and apply critical communication skills to complete business-related tasks such as networking, decision making, giving presentations, resolving conflict, managing questions, negotiating, chasing payments, and teleconferencing.
- Construct clear and coherent business writing with high levels of grammatical accuracy and attention to style and logical flow.
